It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.’
Albert Eisenstaedt

I’m Steve, a Dorset-based photographer with a passion for capturing life’s most meaningful moments through the lens of my camera.

I first fell in love with photography at the age of 13 when my parents bought me a Kodak Ektra camera to take on a school trip. It was a truly awful camera with terrible image quality but despite this and with practice, and learning the basics of composition, I took some half decent shots.

Through my work, I strive to create images that resonate with authenticity and emotion. I take photos ‘about’ people rather than ‘of’ them whether that be photographing an artist on stage, an athlete in action, or a family in the park. My goal is always to capture the true spirit of the person or people in that moment.

I prefer to work with natural light as it is more flattering and offers a creative dimension to my photography. Before I take a single shot, I spend time getting to know my subjects and the kinds of images they are looking for. This helps put them at ease during the photo shoot which always makes for better shots.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me enjoying live music, watching sport or spending time with my friends and family. I am a devoted coffee drinker and wherever I go, like to search out the best independent coffee shops. I’m not really a drinker but I do enjoy the occasional single malt whisky.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my passion for photography.
If you like my photos and my approach feels right for you, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.

‘We are incredibly grateful to Steve for covering our event in Freemasons’ Hall, London with our Patron, Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, and with over 100 guests in attendance. Steve was very knowledgeable about issues we should consider from a photography perspective, which enabled us to check them before the event itself, helping things to run as smoothly as possible. His attention to detail meant that no opportunity was missed during the evening. Steve calmly, discreetly and professionally took photos of HRH The Princess Royal, our CEO, speakers, partners and our guests which helped everyone to feel at complete ease, and as a result we received high quality images that captured the atmosphere of the evening perfectly.
